Make It With Beads - Christmas Tree

Make It With Beads:

Christmas Tree:

Next post under the label ,"Make It With Beads" is the making of a Christmas tree with beads. It is Christmas time and I can see a lot of posts about the making of the decorations for the Christmas tree with various things in the social media. Being passionate in making anything with beads, how can I refrain from making something related to Christmas. So I tried my hands on this making of a Christmas tree with beads. I do not have any model for making this. So I drew and made a pattern all by myself and made it. This beaded Christmas tree can beautifully stand on its own and hence it can be placed in the showcase or hang it as an ornament in the real Christmas tree.

Materials Needed:

  • Beads - 2mm (Dark green, Light green, Yellow, Pink, Brown, Golden)
  • String - 0.3 / 0.4 mm
  • Needle - Very Small (Suitable for both)
  • Scissors

Method:

  • Take a desired length of string and insert one end into a needle and make a knot at the other end of the string.
  • I am starting to make the Christmas tree from the top. The tree is comprised of three parts and each each part has different number of rows.
  • Take 4 dark green beads and insert the needle back into first bead in opposite direction to form the first 4 beaded structure which is the base in making the tree.
  • Then at the bottom of this 4 beaded structure, make another 4 beaded structure just by taking 3 beads.
  • This is the first row of the first part of the tree.
  • Then the second row of the first part has three sets of 4 beaded structures.
  • Make one set exactly below the one from the previous row.
  • Then make another two sets at both the sides of the one 4 beaded structure made.
  • Take 3 beads for this row to make the three sets of 4 beaded structures.
  • Then make the third row with 5 sets of 4 beaded structures.
  • This row is the same as before. Make 3 sets below the 3 sets in the previous row and 2 extra sets should be made at both the sides of 3 sets made which gives a total of 5 sets in the third row.
  • The making of the 4 beaded structure is the same by taking 3 beads for the first one and then take 2 beads for the next sets of 4 beaded structures.
  • Then make the fourth row with seven sets of 4 beaded structures.
  • And then the fifth row with  9 sets of 4 beaded structures.
  • With this we finish the first part of the Christmas tree.
  • Then we move on to the second part which has four rows in total each row having different number of sets of 4 beaded structures.
  • To start the first row of the second part, leave out one set on both the sides and bring the string to the second set.
  • Then take 3 beads in the needle and start making the first row.
  • Similarly take 2 beads for the next 6 sets and make 4 beaded forms and leave out the last set from the previous row.
  • So, the first row of the second part has 7 sets of 4 beaded structures.
  • Then the second row has 9 sets and the third row has 11 sets of 4 beaded structures.
  • The fourth row of the second part has 13 sets of 4 beaded after which we move on to the third part of the tree.
  • The third part of the tree has 5 rows again with different number of sets of 4 beaded structures.
  • To begin the first row of the third part, leave out two sets of 4 beaded structures on both the sides.
  • So, bring the string to third set from the previous row and take 3 beads to make the 4 beaded structures.
  • When you leave 2 sets on both the sides, there will be 9 sets of 4 beaded structures in the first row of the third part.
  • Make the second row with 11 sets and third row with 13 sets of 4 beaded structures.
  • Again the fourth row of the third part will be an increase row with 15 sets of 4 beaded structures.
  • The fifth row is not an increase row. So just make another 15 sets below the fourth row.
  • Now the entire tree part has been finished with 15 sets of 4 beaded structures at the bottom.
  • Move on to the stem part of the Christmas tree with brown colour beads in the central 5 sets form the last row of the Christmas tree.
  • Bring the string to the sixth set of the last row and make 5 sets of 4 beaded structures leaving out 5 sets on both the sides.
  • Make 5 columns and 3 rows of 4 beaded structures with the brown bead for the stem.
  • Once the stem part is done, let us decorate the tree with some colourful beads.
  • Just insert the pink coloured bead in the string and insert the needle into the nearest bead to attach the decorative bead.
  • Repeat the same and add more decoration beads on random places on the tree.
  • Now one set of the Christmas tree is done.
  • Make another one set of Christmas tree by following the same steps.
  • Then join both the trees using the same method of making the 4 beaded structures.
  • Two beads are got from the the trees and 2 extra beads are added to form the 4 beaded structures.
  • Repeat the same steps and join both the trees.
  • When the joining process is halfway done, stuff the trees with some cotton or other stuffing materials.
  • The stuffing should be good enough to make the tree look full and fluffy.
  • Then continue to join both the trees until the end. When done, make a knot and cut off the string.
  • Now let us move to make a star to keep on the top of the tree.
  • Start with a separate string and make a knot at one end of the string and insert the needle at the other end.
  • If you want 5 handed star, start with 5 beads and 6 beads for a 6 handed star.
  • I am making  handed star and hence took 5 beads and inserted the needle back into the first bead to make the 5 beaded structure.
  • Then take 3 beads each time and make 4 beaded structure from all the 5 beads.
  • This forms a 5 handed star and make another star just like this by following the same steps.
  • Join both the stars following the same joining steps that is 2 beads are got from the two stars and 2 beads are added extra.
  • Stuff the stars with a little bit of cotton to give the star a nice three dimensional look.
  • Once the two stars are joined, add one bead at each hands' top which gives the star a sharp look.
  • Make a knot and fasten ogg the string from the star.
  • Stitch the at the top of the Christmas tree tightly.
  • Now beautiful beaded Christmas Tree is ready 😊.
